Hiring a doula should not be seen as a luxury item but as a necessity.
The service I provide is unlike that of your other care providers, in that I remain unbiased and am solely working for you and what you want, not any other organization. Hiring a doula is an investment in your birth experience. While I cannot guarantee you will have the birth you planned, I can make sure you remain informed and as comfortable as possible.
I understand that having a baby isn’t cheap to begin with and that having a doula can seem unnecessary when there are so many other bills to be paid. Because of that, I offer my clients a sliding scale. This means that you can choose the fee that best fits your income and financial situation.
My sliding scale is $500 – $1,000
The lowest fee I will accept is $500 and the highest $1,000, or anywhere in between. I trust that my clients are honest about what they can afford and we can decide what fee works best for you, during your free interview.
The first half of the fee is due upon signing my contract. The second half of the fee will be due during your second prenatal meeting or no longer than the 38 week mark of your pregnancy.
I will make every effort to provide the services described here. Sometimes this is impossible (for example, with a rapid labor). If my failure to attend your birth is due to my error or circumstances beyond anyone’s control, I will keep the deposit but refund the second half of my fee. If it is due to your failure to call me, I will keep the entire fee.
